Hi,
I am Sanya Ahmed from Karachi, Pakistan. I did graduation in
Biotechnology (three year B.Sc. (Hons.) + one year M.Sc.) from the
University of Karachi. I am recently doing M.Sc. thesis in drug
resistance. I would like to continue further studies in the same field
in India. I would be very very thankful if you could help me in this
regard. I would like to know if there are any additional requirements
to apply for a ph.D. after completing sixteen year graduate studies.
My interest is Medical Biotechnology (disease and cure), and want to
pursue my career in this particular discipline for which I would like
to know the universities in India which offer a ph.D. programme in
Biotechnology, with an assistant ship. Or if you could guide me
precisely how to get a job in same field as a fresher in order to pay
off the fee and other necessities.

Regards
Sanya Ahmed

Early/Seed Stage Financing for Life Science Companies
Whether it's new therapies for cancer treatment, better ways to harvest stem cells, or cutting edge neuromodulation technology to develop devices for Parkinsonism, seed-stage funding is still the biggest challenge in the life cycle of the Life Science company.

This panel will examine the current funding landscape for early stage Life Science companies. Is there a shift in licensing of technologies from universities? Are there significant changes in early (seed and series A) venture investment in Life Science technologies compared to last year?  Are any public/ private partnership programs emerging to improve the development of research results into novel therapies and devices?  What are the metrics Angels look for in their investments today? What technologies & deals are most attractive to Angel investors right now?
Some points of discussion in the round table format will include:
  • What are the issues for funding early stage Life Science companies?
  • How do these issues affect the Innovation in the Life Science industry as a whole?
  • How does the current funding environment affect entrepreneurs?
  • Where do we see the trend moving in the future?
