Basic beginning goat husbandry. This, the first of 3 lists, Goats_102@yahoogroups.com & Goats_Advanced@yahoogroups.com that is designed for the newer person that has/is contemplating entering the goat
world. It’s an open discussion list for beginning caprine animal husbandry including management, feeding, immunization, kidding, breed discussion on any type of goat whether it be dairy, meat, fleece, pet or utility. Just entering the goat world can be intimidating. Little problems crop up, at times instant suggestions may be needed for understanding & attention to these emergent matters at hand. Basic
questions should be asked & answered openly & freely without feelings of
embarrassment. We were all there once upon a time. Remember the only dumb question is the question that goes unasked. We are not, do not claim to be veterinarians, simply enthusiastic goats raisers who love to discuss what works for us. If you have serious problems please consult your veterinarian immediately. This list or any other goat list are not designed to take the place of a veterinarian.

No list rules will be imposed at this time.......list members are expected to be courteous to others in their replies & questions...agree to disagree politely, please, but share your knowledge with your fellow list members. All lists will be monitored by others with a more varied experience to call on when necessary. Minor chit-chat is allowed. Sharing of your accomplishments is also allowed as is posting to buy, sell or trade goats within reason.
