PipingDesign is a moderated, no-cost, low-volume internet E-mail list for process piping professionals: engineers, designers, CAD drafters to exchange ideas, shop talk and advice. Members are expected to contribute as well as receive. Posts must be in readable English; we'll make some allowances if English is your second language.

Appropriate topics include:
-Technical questions on piping and pressure vessel design practice including CAD, fluid flow and stress analysis
-Fabrication, testing and QA issues
-Piping design code issues (note that the list does not render binding official Code interpretations)
-Opinions on the sorry state of engineering design since the advent of CAD and 3D modeling
-Technical training (however the list does not endorse particular programs or institutions)

New subscribers' messages are moderated and occasionally edited or rejected by the list moderators. Topics which will get you removed:

-Advertisements and spamming including recruitment ads or job hunting
-Arguments or personal remarks in poor taste
-Solicitation and offers of proprietary or copyright documents, drawings or software

Subscribe as follows-- If you don't have a Yahoo account get one--you need it to manage your subscription. Access your profile then click on 'edit profile' and enter your full name, a nickname (in Display Name) and your city and country (in Location). Click on 'Work' at the upper right and add your employer (Company) and your specialty (Position). We don't need to know anything about your relationships or schools or interests, but include them if you like.
