This US-Laos National Coalition focus group is created and maintained by the US-Laos National Coalition "The Coalition". The Coalition is a proponent of full and complete US-Laos Bilateral Relations including the Normal Trade Relation.
MISSION:
The mission of this focus forum is to facilitate "healthy discussions" surrounding the US-Laos Bilateral Relations, including the implementation of Bilateral Trade Agreement, education, culture, social, and development.
Forum general guideline: This forum, although created, maintained and moderated by the Coalition, professes open discussions which are consistent with our principles that openness and constructive debate are the future for progress, collaboration and democracy. We welcome high level debate from others, such as the supporter of US-Laos Relations (Lao or non-Lao), and even those who are a part of the Anti-Lao Government groups, to present their healthy and constructive arguments.
The Moderator and the Coalition reserves the right to invite and block participants to this forum.
The Coalition's "Statement of Principles":
• The FULL and COMPLETE US-Laos Bilateral Relations would enhance areas in which the United States and Laos cooperate, such as Vietnam War MIA search and recovery, counter narcotics efforts, terrorism, and human trafficking.
• Greater trade and investments would bolster U.S. leverage with Laos (including human rights and religious right issues) as well as help strengthen the position of economic reformers within the LPRP
• The US-Laos trade relationship would help raise exports and job creation and lift many Laotians, including the various minority groups, out of dire poverty.
• US-Laos partnership would help insure the political stability and democratic reform in Laos and spur the country’s integration into the Southeast Asian regional and world economy and strengthen commercial ties between Laotians and Laotian-Americans.
