Description

Inspired by Dr R.T.Doshi, under the guidance of Deepak Suchde a city farm was created at the terrace of the Centralised Kitchen of MBPT to recycle kitchen waste .After 8 years of success in harvesting optimum produce this e group was established by me for sharing my experiences. To briefly intoduce you to Natueco.....

The concept of Natueco Farming is relatively young, introduced by Shri S. A. Dabholkar who was a Mathematician. For me he was a magician! Natueco Farming is one excellent way of learning Mathematics! (A subject I was never good at) Nature never comes with any guarantees. However Natueco teaches us to harvest assured calculated yields! Paradoxically this ‘calculation’ is not a commercial exploitation of land and produce. These calculated yields relate to “Plenty for All” Natueco connects nature and human Ecology and so the Plenty for all envelops not only humans but also other living organisms. It does so within the two laws of Thermodynamics. Natueco emphasizes ‘neighborhood Resource Enrichment” and ‘Additive regeneration” rather than dependence on external commercial inputs. The three relevant aspects of Natueco are Soil building, Root development and maintenance and canopy management with a total non violent approach towards farming. The objectives are ‘enrichment and enhancement of neighborhood resources’ and ‘eradicate malnourishment’ and unemployment. It is therefore significant in its efforts to reduce global warming, climate change and improve status of the farmers.
Natueco has been achieving this through a unique methodology called the ‘Prayog Pariwar”. Prayog means experiments and Pariwar means networking. Prayog pariwar is a network for participatory learning of people who come together to solve their real life problems.

As times change I hope the cityfarmers e group is successful in continuing the legacy of networking and sharing to create a prosumer Society.
