Red5 is a free alternative to commercial RTMP servers like Adobe Flash
Media Interactive Server, Wowza Media Server Pro required for running
web based video chat applications.

Red5 is an open source (licensed under the GNU LGPL) Flash media server
written in Java and supported by a large community of developers. It
supports the RTMPprotocol for communicating to Flash clients, which
allows them todynamically interact with the server to stream
audio/video, and alsoallows for other functionality such as
communication with other Flashclients, custom remote procedure calls.
