well my site is not really that old and i get about 150 to 200 sign ups a day.. www.club-rave.com I mean I been in the rating sean for awhile now and i have a couple friends that own there own sites.. If you want to hit me up zero_degreess  on yahoo I would be more than happy to give you a few hints. I would like to see them do a few more updates to are script I think its in need of a couple. but guess we will see what happens

Can somebody please tell me how to get a dating site off the ground,
so that you can eventually become self-employed? I have been tearing

When you mentioned that the first Dating Agent script was being sold
on Ebay for $5.00, did you mean the one being sold by Deep Blue
Computer Services? I ask this because I bought one such script on CD
last year from this seller on Ebay, and had a lot of problems
customising it (e.g. could not access the members' photos to resize
them to speed up the downloading etc.).

After being so dissatisfied with the script, I removed it from my
site at www.abeautifuldate.co.uk. However, I now need a new one,
instead of having to rely on affiliate links all the time.

Please can somebody recommend a good, cheap - preferabley free -

www.abeautifuldate.co.uk? I have tried Dating Agent (bought from
Deep Blue on Ebay), but had a lot of problems with it. As I am on a
low income, I cannot afford to pay out for top class ones like
AEWebworks Dating.

I do not want to keep posting just affiliate links and relying on
only them to make me money; I want my OWN profitable dating site.

If anybody can help me find a good script, I really will be
eternally grateful.

I used WebDate prior to using Dateopia and a lot of the script is in
encrypted XML files... total pain to customise! Dateopia was much
easier, I've been a designer for years but I was new to php and it's
easy enough for me to get with it with no prior experience.

I don't know all the illegal resellers that tried to sell the code.
The ones found or reported were warned and most of them stopped
delivering this scripts. Some purchased resell rights (available for
that version) and upgraded the sold licenses to the latest versions.

The early version (2.0) that spread was in development and had many
problems. Also when trying to modify it to look different that the
original script, the resellers broke some important functions in the
code.

Here are some start tips:

1. Set very attractive signup conditions (most features free) for a
few months.
2. Invite all your friends to join.
3. Post on related message boards, discussion groups.
4. Banner & link exchange.

Starting a dating online website does not guarantee income from the
beginning. You must build your member database in few months and
then you'll have a business that grows and generates almost by
itself.

If a product is expensive, this does not mean that it is better than
some other affordable products. If you keep this in mind and compare
the list of features you'll find products that cost less and are
easier to customize for your needs and plans to achieve success on
the market. You can start with cheaper packages but you must always
target upgrading and using a software that can do best what you need
for your website.

Always look for customizable packages because you will not be able
to compete with bigger, already established websites by running
clone websites.

You must be able to create a unique website, with unique offers and
membership packages, offer the classic features of dating websites
for free but write your custom profile attributes / questions for
your specific target so you are sure they will use your website and
not other websites with generic theme. You can build a website for a
specific community (based on religion, location, sexual preferences,
