Product Support Engineer : Basically trouble shooter who is given an
opportunity to work on all latest technologies. He is given an
opportunity to think outside the small nutshell of the development
environment.
The role is to provide a global round the clock (7x24) Product
Support.


1. Product is based on all latest Technologies (J2EE) so you get a
chance to understand everything that starts with "J"

2. Product can be deployed on different Application servers like
Websphere and Weblogic so you get an exposure to 2 different
application servers.

3. Product for different OS like Windows, Solaris, Aix, Linux so you
get a chance to work on different OS

4. Development involved when the case requires you to do it (To
understand the customer problem and provide a resolution)

5. Access to the code base is available so that you can see the code,
understand it and try to develop services on top of it.

6. We encourage people to do help Sustaining in code fix.

Communication Methodologies:

1. Direct communications with the Clients/ end users through Emails
(Most frequent)

2. Conference calls (Quite frequent)

3. WebEx sessions (On a case-to-case basis)

4. Remote VPN access (For selected Customers)

5. On-site deputations for problem fixing (Rarely)

7x24 Setup:

1. Defined shift patterns that involve Nightshifts. Currently in a 1
in 3 model (1 week of night shift in a total of 3 weeks)

2. Plans underway for shifting to 1 in 4 model (approximately 1 week
of night shift in 4 weeks)

3. Night Shift allowances, home pick up and drop, dinners and mid
night snacks taken care of

4. Fully equipped kitchenette
