Job Description -
Technical
Extensive understanding and experience with EDI technology including:
industry standards (e.g. ANSI X-12, EDIFACT) data communications, applications
software, EDI transaction sets and translation/mapping software (e.g. Gentran,
Connect Enterprise), operating systems software on hardware platforms.
Mainframe experience is a plus.
Experience in production support for daily EDI, including monitoring and
trouble shooting of transmissions and scheduling preferred.
Ability to understand and effectively translate business requirements
into technical specifications for implementation within EDI transactions.
Communicate requirements to customers and channel partners to assist
them in meeting predefined EDI standards. Analyze and resolve problems.
Manage multiple EDI implementations at one time.
Working knowledge of Value Added Networks processes preferred.
Implement Electronic Commerce requirements for 820 electronic funds
transfer, 810 Invoice, 844 Chargeback Request, 845 Contract Notification, 850
Purchase Order, 855 P.O. Acknowledgement, 856 Advance Ship Notice, 867 End User
sales dataset, EDI conversion and related transition processes. Performs
analytical functions. Review record layout submissions or changes by customers
and channel partners to prevent unexpected results in data processing.
High-level understanding of supply chain, sales, marketing and financial
business processes information flows and application systems. Key processes
include: customer services, order processing, invoicing, distribution,
receivables with a focus on electronic funds transfer processes.
High-level understanding of related customer/channel partner business
processes and information flows.
Identify and work with business units to implement improvements to the
current business processes utilizing Electronic Commerce technology.
Provide limited technical assistance to new or existing customers and
channel partners for EDI software requirements specific to interfacing with J&J.
Assistance to include areas of software and communications.
Knowledge and technical skills in EDI and communications technologies.
