I would like to add something similar - the "line to next waypoint"
is very faint on my colour Garmin iQue. Not sure if this is a
problem on other colour PDA's - but I was wondering if you could
make that line more visible / bold / etc?

This is important because most of the time I don't fly a task - I
just select the next waypoint to fly to - manually.

Regards
LP

I am currently running Soaringpilot on a Palm M500 and am thinking of upgrading.  What hardware are people using to run this application?  It does have to tolerate the heat well as I fly in North Carolina.

Thanks in advance,
Roger

Hallo Paul
recently I checked some waypoints and ran across the problem with the
elevation in the additional info screen - if I enter a value in the
aditional info screen and switch to the main waypoint edit screen to
save, elevation value is not remebered.

Best regards

Hi Edwin,

This feature is only available on colour hi-res palms.
I will see if I can make it avialble on on hi-res black and white
palms. However, it must be a hi-res unit.

Hi MB,

This is not a bug. Only the underlined fields can be changed.
You need to edit this in the main waypoint screen.

Because of the Palm OS it's difficult to display a field and prevent
the user from being able to overwrite the field.

Hi Roger,

I would recomment a Tungsten T. It's an old model but you can pick
them up from ebay or similar. Has the best screen for viewing in
sunlight and is powerful enough to run Soarpilot with complex SUA and
many waypoints.

Hallo all,
would it be possible to implement auto zoom feature to the SUA
warnings? My idea - if you get and early SUA warning, the map would
auto zoom on the SUA border, like the turnpoint zoom. If you deactivate
the SUA (5min, 1hour, today), map would zoom back to original setting.
If you enter the SUA or fly away from SUA, map would aslo return to the
original scale. IMHO that might help to avoid entering the SUA airspace.

Sorry to bother again :-)

Hallo Paul,
today I connected my Volks to my Tungsten T for the first time.
Although the max NMEA speed, which provides reliable connection, is

However, when I tried to clear the logs in the logger from the transfer
screen, I repeatedly got fatal alert.

MB,

Can you tell me how far it gets before the crash. Which dialog boxes
appear (if any) after you have pressed the Delete All Flights

Also, I recommend deleting all your flight data.

I've set an XC task. When I was flying I returned to start cilinder. I
confirmed task restarting. It looks like SP started new log. I think
only task time counter ( task parameters ) should be restarted. Log
file shouldn't be cutted. Igc of that fligth is witout launch and
first 10 minutes of flight.

Yes I have a similar problem. Regularly It happens to me during an XC
task. And often It is very difficult to select an answer to window
questioning the restart, because I'm thermalling in paraglider and It
is dangerous to move the hands out of the brakes and I can't
answer. So the log file is cutted.

Or the appearing of the restart window, should be selected among the
settings as option only.

Hello Michele,

I agree this is a problem. SP shoulld not cut the log file.
Does it only get cut when you do not answer the Re-Start Task window
or every time?

I have not had this problem in competition and XC flying.

Dear Paul I'm almost sure that it happens when I do not answer only.
Probably the cut is for all the time "SP is waiting" for an answer.
When I succeded in selecting "no" (never selected "yes") the log file
seemed regular. I'm sorry but I cannot "certify" it so surely. I use
the last beta.

And also it could be a malfunction of my m500, that isn't
so "perfect". Always I must reset it before evry USB synchronization
to avoid a PC crash.

But really for me the problem is the "question" (always I answer no),
and the momentary change of screen. I would prefer to have the
possibility of avoiding the question.

Paraglider polars have a range of speeds a bit "narrow" than other
gliders. In the best cases the minimum/stall speed is 23 kph the max
60-62 kph. So the range is a bit less than 40 kph. But in the most of
the cases it is less than 27.

I never realized that on the final glide screen with a negative HW of
abt 20 kph and my polar, the suggested STF was 34 kph. It looks very
strange, I expected a speed around 49-54 kph. Have i To add the 20 kph
tailwind to the related speed on the final glide screen?

Dear Paul

I cant remember exactly what I've pressed, but I pressed something,
probably yes (it was not important). I am also flying paraglider and
my PDA is m500 with 14mar05 beta2 on it and sometimes is hard to
answer. I can make a little "foot" task on the ground to see what is
happening afer yes and after no.

In my flight beginning of flight is cutted, there is no log of launch
and flying before my answer.

Recently I bought a Volklogger and I want to connect it to my Plam M505.
I read in the announcements that it is possible to use SoaringPilot to
program the Volkslogger. Is there any documentation of this nice
feature. I also need a wiring diagram for the connection between the
Palm and the Volklogger. Is such a diagram available?

Kind regards,

Jaap Leguijt

I've made 3 walkings:

- confirmed reactivate
- not confirmed reactivate
- no response to form

Track log is not cuted (is OK). I've used latest version and 100m
cylinders. The only difference form flight is that i used FAI sectros
af flight, and that may walking was short 3 minutes each test. I can
try again with FAI sectores.

I've already had cutted log once. It happend when i accidently
preesed
new waypoint button on map screen. I noticed that after 5+ minutes. I
am not shure but i think that log was cutted in the time when question
dialog (yes no) was on the screen???

Thanks for your testing on this issue.
I have not been able to find the problem, so please continue.
When you can repeat the problem everytime it's much easier to find
the bug

Hi Paul I made some tests with SP on a car restrting a task. No more cutted
log. But my M500 crashed two times for unknown reason. Now I will try to
test with my Vx. Probably one of my palms is a bit defective.....

Volklogger.

Hello

About HLUX GR 230, I have similar problem with Bluetooth holux 230.
Sometimes for unknown reason, I got NO GPS DATA for 1 or 2 minutes and in
fact when I check on logger, Igot a lost of signal and always above 1000
meters.

You will find flight on IGC files in files attached.

I suppose there is a link with altitude....

In any case, great hanks for your work ; this soft is very useful in soaing

Joël.

Do you know what altitude you were at? For some strange reason I have
a problem with my Sony Clie and my Navman 4460 GPS (over bluetooth),
if my altitude is greater then 1000 Meters, SP will report NO SAT. I
know for a fact that this is not a problem with either the GPS or my
Clie, since other palm GPS app (Centus) do work properly over 1000
meters.... (it took me a long time to realize that it was 1000 meters
since I fly using feet...)

I wonder if it's the same problem you had and sought that you had a
problem with the GPS...
