Our main topic is terminology, but from time to time we discuss other matters such as ethics, client issues, dictionaries, online resources, marketing yourself, education and accreditation, etc. List members normally move all chat threads and cultural stuff to SpTranslators_chat, our "chat area," after about 3-4 messages.
